Khao San Road

The road's sign!
"Where the worlds young travellers meet."
Khao San Road is a favourite road for the young travellers who are on a budget. Khao San Road has evolved over the last two decades from just one small hostel providing low-budget accommodation become one of the world most well-known place. Khao San Road has been featured in many movies and television programs.

During the day, Khao San Road is the scene for back-packers looking for a cheap room while others are arranging transport to their next destination in Thailand or overseas. Some will be just chatting with friends over a cup of coffee or a bowl of noodles.
At night, Khao San Road turns into a lively street lined with street stalls selling cheap clothes, handicrafts, souvenirs and thousands of other items. The lights are on at the many bars where the travellers tell tales of the days adventures and discoveries and the plans for tomorrow. Khao San Road is not just for foreign travellers, many young Thai people like to hang out there.

Khao San Road is always full of people!!!

At night, more and more people will visit there!!
During April when Thais celebrate the Songkran Festival(潑水節), Khao San Road becomes a fun-filled battleground for everyone, Thais and foreigners indulge in splashing each other with water.
The area is also well-known for the wide variety of inexpensive food. This ranges from spicy Thai Tom Yum Gung soup to the ever-popular banana pancake.

Princess Terrace Pub & Restaurant

Having dinner here is very romantic!!!

The inside of the restaurant.

Princess Terrace Pub & Restaurant was created by three businessmen who initially founded a dinner cruising business twenty years ago. Today, their dinner cuisines have attracted a lot of tourists from all over the world and are thought as the leading cuisine of the Thai cuisine. At the begining, their three co-founders merely shared a common interest of building a restaurant on board so their customers would be able to dine and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Chao Phraya River at the same time. They had experiences of working in tour agencies before, so they believed that this idea would be widely accepted and popular. Hence, they put all of their resources into creating their first “restaurant on-board” at 1990. Afterward, their success proved that their idea was acceptable.

Wat Arun or Temple of Dawn

Unbelievably, there are over 31200 Buddhist temples spread around Thailand. Now, I am going to introduce one of temples in Thailand which is called Wat Arun or Temple of Dawn. This temple is one of the most remarkable landmark of Bangkok. The name of Wat Arun gets from Aruna that is the Indian god of the dawn. The temple was built during the Ayutthaya period and was originally called Wat Makok after the name of the local village Tambol Bangmakok that means "Village of Olives". This temple is located at the Chao Phraya River bank. The imposing Khmer-style tower is 67 metres tall and decorated with small pieces of porcelain. The four-corner smaller towers of Wat Arun that are the images of the guardian gods of the four directions.
